: Hello, I am glad that someone has been helped by using spironolactone. I am supposed to start it tomorrow, for adult onset acne. (Adult acne, what a terrible thing! I've always had perfect skin, and now this!!) I am wondering how long it takes for spironolactone to kick in? My daughter is almost 21 and has been treated for Acne for years and years. She looked perfect on Accutane, but the Acne is beginning all over again. This condition probably bothers me more than it does her, but I was wondering about potential for side effects??? I have been doing a little internet research and have found references to increased incidence of breast cancer and inability to conceive. Has anyone experienced these problems? Please let me know, as I am really nervous to have her start this drug. She is going to a great doc, but you just never know??? Thanks very much!!!
