: : : Hi, I've seen the Proactiv infomercial a million times, and I was thinking of getting it...but then I saw Serious Skin Care's 5-piece kit for acne advertised on the home shopping channel. Then my mother happened to have this health book out that swears by ZINC being the best control for acne (zinc sulfate tablets, 50mg three times a day). I don't know what to do now! Can someone help me with this? Has anyone tried the Serious Skin vs. Proactiv? Has anyone tried zinc tablets?
: : Zinc could work well if your acne problem is due to a copper/zinc inmbalance. If you have too much copper in your system, your skin will breakout. Zinc keeps copper levels lower. It is also good for healing wounds.
I wanted to try it to see if it really worked and for me it did not. I'm not saying that you shouldn't get it but, I use neutragena's on the spot acne treatment and it has the same active ingredient as theirs which is 2.5% benz. Anyway I don't have a acne problem but I do get pimples stil and neutragena helps alot. I know how it feels when your face is not as clear as you wish it would be and I really hope that one day they will have something that really works for everyone.
