: : So you're taking 400mg of Spironolactone a day. Is your doctor aware of this increase or did you opt of this increase on your own? I am just wondering about dosages. I have excessive body hair and will be beginning spiro in a couple weeks.
: Hi, my name is jennifer, I ave been diagnosed with PCOS and have been put on several medications for this including spironolactone.
: I am suppose to take 50 mgs. twice a day.
: I have a big anxiety about taking meds because of the side effects. I could always use some moral support from other people in my situation. If you have any advice to help me out in feeling comfortable with taking this spironolactone please e-mail me at jen77-31@webtv.net Thanks
I am also taking this medication as of yesterday:
50 mg. a day for excess chin hair and am hoping it works. My concern is the fact that I have heard it interferes with estrogen and diuretics as well as tassium supplements. I recently had my estrogen -(premarin) doubled to 1.25 mgs. a day.
The dr. says I may need to up my estrogen even more after taking this medication. I still have my ovaries too, mind you...although I had a partial hysterectomy years ago. I am also taking 50 mg. a day of hydrochlorathyazide (diuretic) and 20 MEQ of K-Dur (a potassium supplement) - plus anywhere from 25 to 50 mg. of Trazadone at night to help me sleep. Please if anyone knows if this is too much I would like to know - and also does this medication, spironolactone really work for hair growth? Thank you so much... Dee Smith
