I have the most wonderful dermatologist. She actually listened to what I had to say about my acne. I know my is hormone related and I had tried everything.
First she prescribed Bactrim for me a sulfur based drug which worked great. I found out that I was allergic to it. I was almost in tears when she told me I had to quit taking it b/c I had a rash all over my body. I said I can live with the rash--have you seen how clear my face is? She started laughing and said I don't respond to typical "acne" treatment.
She put me on amoxicillian. I can't believe with the bactrim & amox that I started seeing results right away. I've only had one little whitehead since I started taking it & I feel like a new person.
I still get up every morning to examine my face to make sure acne didn't occur and am so excited with the results.
I wish everyone success in their search for the "right" acne medicine. My point is maybe the right drug for you isnt' the typical acne drug.
