Thanks so much for your sweet response. It made me feel a little better. You are right about focusing on other things. I also feel ever since I've been obsessing and doing so much research on acne, it seems to have gotten worse! The mind is a powerful thing along with stress. I guess things could be alot worse.
: : Sweetie
: You really touched my heart with your story...which so reminds me of my own.
: At 36, I am still batling acne. I am frustrated when people tell me it isn't that bad, etc. They are not the ones up at 5am (I don't have to be to work until 8am) spending time covering zits. Forget about covering cysts!
: I too visit my derm for injections. He is a beautiful person who is married to my gyno! Can you beleive. But, they work together to help me. I have been on about 5 different birth control pills in the last 15 years. I cannot remember them all, but none made any difference in my skin--good or bad.
: I am on my 2nd course of Accutane. Unfortunately, many people posting here are "thrilled" with their personal results. I have refrained from telling them that it is "temporary" and acne will be back. And, for some, in the meantime, lingering side effects (hair loss/depression) never cease. I have tried not to be the downer on this board.
: Can I make a suggestion? Work on the inside of you. If your acne is as bad as you say, and you are almost 30 years old, you will probably always have it. But, you probably have a great figure---and many overweight women would trade with you. Maybe you have a wonderful intellect and can talk to most anyone--and shy people would trade with you.
: It may sound corny, but, I am just realizing that acne will not determine my worth. Thankfully, I have a man in my life who flatly refuses to let me get down about my skin. He loves ALL OF ME!
: Please learn to love all of you.
: Peace and Good Health
