I'm not familiar with the story of the Congressman's son, but as someone who's been on Accutane several times and been around and dealt with depression, I am pro-Accutane. Accutane is not a miracle drug. It always clears me up, until I stop using it, and then my acne slowly returns. And it is the acne returning that always hurts my self-esteem and gets me depressed, not the drug itself. I think, this is the best drug available and it's not working, I'm cursed. At least it is comforting to know that if my acne gets too bad again, I can always go back on Acutane and at least get cleared up temporarily.
