: : Ok Ive been having this problem for about 2 1/2 years now, about when my acne came about. When I wake up in the morning, I feel totally disgusting and that I have to take a shower right away. I just feel gross. I dont like anything really touching my face or anything like that, and I have the same problem when I get home from school, or any other activity that I have to wake up in the morning for. I was wondering if anyone else out there has had that problem, and if so, is it because of the acne? Also, I have many prescriptions for my acne, but Im afraid to use any of them (about $400 worth) because Im scared they will dry my skin out EVEN MORE. It is SO frustrating, what are some good facial moisturizers for people with very dry skin. And one more question. I have been using Sulfur soap for about 3 months now, and it has kind of helped, most of the bumps are gone, but there are still some left, but what Im having a hard time with is the red dots and redness in general that is under my skin. For the most part my skin is rather smooth, except for some bumps, but those red marks just will not go away, espically this one pimple that just wouldnt leave so I did remove it myself, but you can still see what it left behind As soon as someone could help me with a moisturizer I could start taking some of the medicine I spent so much money on. Ive been battling this acne for, like I said, about 2 1/2 years, and I must say, they are the worst years of my life, being that it just flamed up right after my father died. So Im not only depressed about that, I am also severely depressed about my acne, you wouldnt believe me if I told you what I think it did to my life. I dont go to a lot of places because of it. I dont like to go to school because of how I will feel when I get home, and how I feel while in school. I feel gross and digusting like I said before, I wonder if anyone is looking at my face, I wonder that since it feels very dry, am I peeling? Can anyone see it? I dont like going because I DO like girls, and I would like to get a pretty girlfriend, but what girl wants a guy with acne? Its just so overwhelming. Now I dont really go to school, and I am thinking about joining the armed forces just to get away because now I am a high school drop out, have no job, and dont really have anything for the future. I genuinely believe this is all because of my acne, and if I could just make it go away I would just be so much happier in general. Well there it is, some of the things I go through every day. If anyone has any advice, or anything please post it, I really need some help here. Thanks for listening.

: : Steve

: Dear Steve, you really touched me, so I thought I would write. I recently gave my depressed
: teenage daughter a card that said, "Keep your chin up, it's easier to see heaven that way"
: It's difficult to see the possibilties in life when your depressed. You have experienced a severe
: trauma with the death of your father and along with acne, and just being a teenager is so
: stressfull. You need time to grieve, heal. How ever long you need to heal is ok, it's your
: time table. I have been there Steve. When I was 18, I experienced a severe trauma, and
: had horrible cystic acne. Life was too painful, I didn't have anyone to help me I thought.
: I was pretty, but never had a boyfriend because all you could see is huge red cysts all
: over my face,my back. I attempted suicide. Being near death brings things in perspective
: real quick. I wasn't afraid to die, but I did see what a coward I was to live. I was afraid of
: life more than dying! One of the most wonderful things happened to me as I was in the ER.
: Barely concious, I remember this police officer threatening to send me to the nut house,
: but all of a sudden, his face focused in my eyes, and I realized he was the ugliest man
: I had ever seen in my life! At that moment he softened and said to me, " When I wake up
: every morning I go to the mirror and say George, you are so handsome!" I was shocked, this
: cop knew that I had no self-esteem, and he did, and he was soooo ugly. But he really
: ment what he said, and those words saved my life. I chose to live and what a wonder life
: has become. I am 46, still have acne(but it's under control). Soon after my suicide attempt
: I met my husband, and for 28 years we have been in love! He married me cystic
: acne and all! I am a beautiful women. You are a handsome young man. You have a whole
: life of wonder ahead of you if you choose it. Don't let depression get the best of you.
: Make a commitment to overcome lifes traumas. You have many choices( outside
: of harming yourself with drugs, alcohol, or suicide, )there will be no wrong choices. You see?
: Finish school, join the forces, get a job. What ever it takes to get you back into living. Ask
: for help, mom, doctors, counselors, friends, God etc. Now for your acne. The way you
: describe it, it sounds like you have it under control. Sulfur is very drying to the skin, but
: you said it is helping. Is it a bar soap?( Bar soaps in general tend to clog pores, the tallow in it), you might try
: a topical sulfur treatment, after using a gentle cleanser like Johnson and Johnson Head to Toe
: Baby cleanser. (Same as purpose cleanser but lot's cheaper!) The moisturizers other recommended
: are great. You skin is dehydrated so drink lots of water, take flax seed oil daily, take enough
: until your hair starts to get oily or you see your skin get oily then drop down to less/ day. This will balance your fatty acids,
: in the body and it will bring a natural moisture barrier back to your skin. All acne people need
: moisture, not oil in the skin. Along with EFA's like primrose or borage or fish oil, flax wil
: also help balance hormones. Others here have posted great info on these supplements.
: For red marks, scars, take lots of vit C with bioflavonoids, and zinc., and Vit A . These will
: help your marks clear faster, less scarring. ( Vit A will dry the skin in
: high doses, so I suggest only 25,000IU/ day, it 's a super fast healer.) Topical vit C will help fade scars, retin A used
: with a hydroquinone cream( 2%) found at any drug store. Aways use sunscreen after treatment
: with retin A, or hydroquinone. Aways use sunscreen period. AHA's will also help fade red
: marks. Alpha Hydrox is a good cheaper drug store brand. You can use AHA's under your
: moisterizer. Vit C products the good ones like Cellex C are expensive and should be used
: in the day ( try E bay, cheaper) if you want to try this, it is the least drying to the skin. I hope I haven't confused you, but
: there are many things that you could do for your red scars and red face. Skin redness
: usually means skin sensitivity and irritation to products being used. Sometime just changing
: products will make a world of difference. If you have questions, please ask me if you like.
: I check in from time to time. Love and Great Skin to you, Shayna

Try beta care cream. ask pharmisist to order . Its over the counter but they dont put it on the shelf. It feels real thick at first but it really works.
