I think you're jumping to conclusions if you're going to give up on accutane based on just 11 days! The package even warns that some initial redness may occur. Don't panic. Also, the doctor should be monitoring your liver functions with regular blood tests, so don't panic about that either.
The first month I used accutane I did break out in peculiar ways, but I don't have that problem anymore. (I do have very chapped lips, sore joints and am fatigued quite a bit, however. I'm not too worried about this because I know that THIS TOO SHALL PASS.)
My skin is definitely less oily and I am breaking out a lot less. I'm glad I'm having the experience of accutane. It's nice not having skin that's so oily all the time.
Here's a hint. If you're still breaking out with accutane, make sure it's not due to some other product you're using. I was using vaseline on my dry lips and that made me break out a lot. I switched to Blistex in the little, round pot, and I have no such breakouts.
Good luck to you.
