: Hi,
: In Febraury I started having gel nails put on. Up until now my nails and hands have done fine. This last weekend I had
: a chemical reaction. I have blisters and swelling, itching around cutiicles and splitting around and under the nail. I went to the
: doctor. They gave a cream to put on called Ultavate. The question is - Is there anything else that I can do? Because this is
: every painful and annoying.
: Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.
: Thank You

: .
I also have allergic reactions to artificial nails. My cuticles itch terribly starting about 6 or 8 hours after and it lasts about 24 hours. I use T/Scalp by neutrogena. It is a hydrocortisone in a liquid form and it penetrates the skin much better than the creams. As soon as I get home after having my nails done, I apply this and do it again a few hours later and I have had no more problems. I used to scratch my cuticles with a hair brush because the itching was so bad it kept me awake at night.
