: Many thanks for your responses. To the extent that presently there is no known cure for ADHD, we are looking for alternatives to the heavy drugs. I understand that these are masks or bandaids and that with intervention and plain hard work we can make some progress. I am looking for anyone with actual results from alternatives. Thank you.
Had some short term results with diet therapy. Read "Feeding the Brain", by C. Keith Connor. Everytime my daughter ate a carbohydrate she had to follow it with a form of protein. Also in this vein, Dr. Lendon Smith (TV Dr. of the 70s) wrote a book entiled "Improving your Child's Behavior", which also discussed the importance of protein. This worked for about year. Also rec. reading "Is this your child?" by Doris Rapp, which discusses how allergies can cause ADHD symptoms. Hope this is the type of info you wanted. Richelle
