In Reply to: Should I medicate 5 yr old daughter? posted by Theresa on December 16, 1999 at 08:00:10:

: My daughter has been diagnosed ADHD since age 3. We have tried her on several meds and all of them had bad side effects so we stopped giving it to her. NOw she is in kindergarten and I see that she cannot remain focused for anything- she really isn't hyper, just cannot pay attention. Does anyone know of a good med that I can ask doctor for with low to no side effects?

Theresa, Did you consider asking your doctor for a med with low side effects. This is what your doctor went to school for. People here can offer suggestions but each person reacts to medication differently as you have already seen. Your doctor is the one who knows your daughters medical history the best and is the best qualified to help you with this question.
