: THERE IS NO KNOWN CURE FOR ADHD MY 9 TEAR SON HAS ADD WHICH AN ATTENTION DIVISIT DISORDER AND HE ALSO HAS A LEANING DISABILITY AND THE DOCTORS HAS TOLD ME THAT THE ONLY THING THEY CAN DO IS GIVE HIM RITALIN UNTIL HE CAN CONTROLL HIS ATTENTION PROBLEM ON HIS OWN IT IS SOMETHING THAT THEY LEARN TO DO IN TIME THERE IS A PART OF HIS BRAIN THAT DOES NOT FUNCTION AS WELL AS THE REST SO IF THERE IS ANY ONE WHO HAS ANY INFORMATION TO HELP I WOULD APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH.

My 8 yr. old daughter has been on numerous meds,...she is seriously affected by ADHD and dyslexia. Right now she is on a combination of ritilin and an antidepressant and Pycnogenol Complex. With the combination of the three, she is starting to learn to read after all this time. I have many concerns too, but being an RN helps. I am pressing for regular liver function tests while addressing her many other problems. The main thing is to understand that your child can be helped, and dont feel alone. As parents, we all hurt for our children, but I believe they will learn more and more. In the meantime, keep trying until they get it right. Good Luck
