: My 10 year old daughter was just diagnosed with ADD. I am in need of information on how to deal with this new development. Are there any good books on this that I can read or a list of support groups somewhere. We haven't yet told her about this, so all helpful information is greatly appreciated.

There are lots of good sources out on the web. Just do a search for ADD as there to many to start listing here. One good site though is www.gorf.com You said your daughter was newly diagnosed but doesn't know about the ADD yet. I would have thought that the psychiatrist or psychologist who ran the tests on her would have included her when he told you the diagnosis. She should be aware so that she knows what is going on. Also she should be involved in the process of her treatment of this too. Good Luck.
