Please run not walk to everyone starting with the school psyhogist,
social worker, nurse, teacher, and finally principle. If this does not help contact
C.H.A.D.D. in your local phone directory or on the webb. Lots of great
people are out there and you need to be the advocate for your child
I at first let "them" tell me no you don't need an IEP......however three years down the road now
I have come across an "old Fashioned" teacher who doesn't believe in ADHD.
well un be knownst to her I took my son off his meds for 2 weeks just to let
her see the real thing without his meds.....not neccessarily the right thing to do
but it really did open that whole school's eyes regarding ADHD, and why they
must treat it with the same respect due to a child with CP or any other disability.
Fight for your child's rights....ADA now recognizes ADD/ADHD as a learning
impairment.....hope some of this helps
