Biron,
I was 52 when I learned of my ADD. I take methylphenidate 10 mg 2 x a day. I don't have highs and lows but if I take my med and work hard at a focused task (which I never could before), I feel drained and exhausted when it is over. To my mind working hard, achieving my goal and getting tired is not a problem. It is a solution.
ADD is a medical problem and needs medical treatment. Finding the right kind of med and the right dosage as well as timing can take time and effort. It is well worth it. Knute.
