In response to your question, I can tell you that both my son who is 15 now and my daughter who is 13 have both been diagnosed with A.D.D. approximately 5 years ago. My son was put on the Ritalin and my daughter on the Adderal. My son only needed to take his medication during school hours also and I too noticed the same side effect with hyperactivity when the medication wore off. He also experiance unpleasant side effects such as mood swings and intense anger while on the medication. The Ritalin, in my opinion is a serious controlled substance that does seem to have the ability to become resistant
over a long period of time. With my daughter on the Adderal, she seems to have much less side effects. She does not get the hyperactivity when it wears off and doesn't have any of the side effects that the Ritalin seems to create. She is more balanced with the Adderal, unlike my son who has the mood swings while on the Ritalin.
