It was my impression that adderal users build a tolerance to this medication and your husband may be accustomed to this dosage. Even though this doctor has information which contradicts his previous dose, each and every person who has add has a different chemistry with lifestyle facets that affects how the chemical works in the system. According to the pharmacists insert that comes with the drug package, acidic juices hinder or reduce effects of this med. Other lifestyle behaviours also interact as well. Other drugs, heavy alcohol use, caffiene in heavy amounts and the like all play a part in a person. If this doctor hasn't determined additional factors such as the ones mentioned above, he may not actually be seeing the big picture. His opinion is only an opinion and there is more than one doctor in this world who prescribes drugs. I would definitely seek a second opinion to verify such statements. Good luck and I am sorry husband is suffering.
