: Hi,
: My 9 year old son has ADD and his teacher insists that he be on his Ritalin. Every year I have tried to get him started in school without Ritalin and everytime the teachers demand it.
: Is there any alternative that I can ask of the teachers? I am not comfortable with the risk of side effects.

The teachers cannot demand that he be on Ritalin. If you are not comfortable with it then take him off of it. If the school tries to tell you he has to take it then fight it legally by taking your situation up with the school prinicple, the school board and whoever else you may need to.
