: Hi I would like to start a support group a local one in my area. I want to do this to see how many kids in my sons school have ADD, how the school is handleing them and to help each other and share ideas like we do here. I have no idea how to go about this and I am kinda of feeling like maybe some people do not want anyone to know or they just dont talk about it. Does anyone have any idea how to go about this? Has anyone done this in your area? What do you think? Any encouragement or any opinions would be appreciated.
: Sue

I think this is a wonderful idea and am thinking about doing this myself. I would start by asking the school office if you could post a sheet on the bulletin board, if you have one, asking other parents to join you in a discussion/brainstorm session. Have it at your home or ask the school to borrow the cafeteria. Don't do a sign up sheet, but ask for RSVP's. Ask if any staff or teachers would be willing to come that have success with dealing with ADD/ADHD. Good luck
