My son is 8yrs old and also is diagnosed with ADHD. His IQ is very high as is with most children diagnosed with ADHD. My sons type of ADHD is behavioral as well. He has been on Adderall for several months, before that he was on Rittilan, which was not the right medication for my son. This decision will be one of your hardest decisions to make, it was for me. I was and still am totally against given any child a drug. But after being hammered by teachers and other school staff I was at my wits end. So, under a Doctors care, I gave adderall a try. It seems to help, and he will go for months now without any type of outburst, then, as most human beings do, something will set him back. But usually he will get back on track again. I wish you the best of luck to you and your son. God Bless.
