I am a 31 yr old woman, who not having yet been diagnosed, has unofficially comfirmed what I have suspected for years. In researching behavioral disorders, due to my 7 yr old daughter's conduct problems at school,I have discovered that not until the 80s did they catagorize ADD without hyperactivity.
So what I have been suffering with is real.I am not a dummy!I have stuggled all my life through school, work and home.In school,I scraped by accademically.I had a severe inability to socially interact with others and to this day I still have trouble carrying on a conversation with my closest friends without transposing words or slightly studdering.I have been unable to work at a desk job,due to fact I can not actually stay at the desk, and home, well home is in a shambles.I also have impulsive thoughts that I strain to hold back, but I always do.The hard part is thinking that somehow I am the cause of my daughter's troubles. She is exhibiting most of the same symptoms as me.I think it is to late for me,but her I want to help.Any tips I would appreciate.
