: Hello. My 11 year old son who lives with his father (long story) was diagnosed last year with ADD after
: my son's teacher and I forced the issue with his father. His father was ignoring the problem and allowing
: my son to flounder in school. It has been very difficult to get any information out of my ex regarding my son.
: I just recently found out that they are indeed medicating my son when his
: father last told me they were not. Here's the situation: my son is flunking 5 th grade and his father is
: doing nothing about it but punishing him "until his grades improve". I am suing again for custody this
: summer to get my son here with me so he can get the help he needs. Where can I find documentation
: about ADD from diagnosis to treatment that I may present to the court? I've tried a few search engines
: and came up empty handed. I'm looking for an outline of how this is diagnosed and specifically what the
: parents responsibility is to help their child improve. I am so worried about my son - his self esteem is
: nill and he thinks he "just stupid" when I know he's not. Please reply either here or to my
: emai:l flute1@theramp.net. Thank you for all your help.
Cindi, use the search engine at www.northernlight and type in the words ADD testing and I think you will find enough information to help you out. You might also try www.dogpile.com and type that in too. Good Luck and if you need anything more you can e-mail me at mlgable@home.com I am a whiz at searches and would be glad to help if needed.
