In Reply to: Switch from Ritalin to Adderall posted by Laura on April 05, 2000 at 14:17:23:

: My 10 year old daughter takes ritalin. This summer her doc wants to try adderall. Is this safer? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

: Any comments would be helpful.

Adderall is more expensive than the generic brand of Ritalin. Since you are looking at long-term daily medication, this may be a factor for you. I have heard that Adderall is better, but I don't know why. You'll never know which one works best until you try it. So I guess it's worth a try.
