Hello, I am 43 and was diagnosed w/attention deficit a little more than a year ago. I was put on Ritalin and I must say it changed my life. Suddenly, I was able to "see" more clearly, focus, have more patience-less anxiety, etc. Recently, I was switched to Dexedrine because I was beginnning to feel the Ritalin wasn't working as well as it did. I take 10mg 4x day. I have been taking 15mg of Dexedrine 4x day and I'm feeling a little "speedy". I'm considering giving it a little longer (only been a week) or switching back to Ritalin. Any other thoughts on this? I have a friend who switches back and forth every other week, but I didn't know if that was a great idea although it works for her. I'd love to correspond w/other adults w/ADD. I am married w/three kids...
: I'm 21 and have been on ritalin since I was around 11. I was taken off it for 2 years when I was 15 because it made me tempremental. They gave me dexadrine as an alternative. I found the dexedrine worked better but after two years I was switched back to Ritalin due to excessive wait loss from the dexedrine. Ritalin has worked well for me up until recently when I switched to Adderall which I find even more effective.
: : I am a 35 yr. old female. As I am newly diagnosed and on my first trial of Ritalin, I'm curious to know how other adults are responding to this medication. Highs, lows, positives and negatives. Please share your experience and insights with me. Thanks guys.
