: I was wondering if there is any comparison for someone to see that shows the difference between lack of discipline and ADD. My girlfriend has a child that refuses to do his math, gets it all wrong and challenges her to do anything about it. I believe that is a discipline problem; she believes it is ADD. Any idea of a link that would prove or disprove me?????

http://www.chadd.org/
This is the website for children and adults with ADD.
It will have what the clinicians look at for diagnosis
another diagnosis may be worth looking into is ODD, oppositional defiant disorder.
on any health related issue especially if mental health related the DSM-IV book is great.
Search the term DSM-IV and it will get you to it
Good Luck!
