: I'm looking for some help in determing a course of treatment for my eight-year-old son. Much has been written about the successes of neurofeedback and treatment of adhd and behavior problems, but I can't find anyone who has had actual experience. I have a school principal who is on the ritalin bandwagon, but I would like to explore alternative methods before I medicate. Can anyone help me? Thanks.
TERESA: MY SON HAS DONE HAD GREAT SUCCESS WITH HIS NEUROFEEDBACK TREATMENT. UNFORTUNATELY, BECAUSE THEY ARE QUITE COSTLY, WE HAVE SUSPENDED THEM FOR THE TIME BEING. WE ARE CURRENTLY WITHOUT HEALTH INSURANCE, AND FIND IT TO STRAINING ON OUR BUDGET. DURING HIS TREATMENT HOWEVER, HIS ATTITUDE IMPROVED GREATLY, AND HIS TEACHER THOUGHT HE WAS BEING MEDICATED. TRY IT. BE AWARE HOWEVER, THAT IT TAKES APPX 10 VISITS BEFORE YOU MAY SEE A DIFFERENCE.
