I'm a 22 year old male and I've been on Adderall for 6 months now and its great. It is a mixture of two forms of amphetamine and two forms of dextroamphetamine, both of which have been around for over 100 years, longer than Ritalin, Cylert or any of the antidepresants so it's not as risky as you might imagine and other than the possibility of insomnia, rapid heartbeat, and loss of appettite, there are few side effects. It lasts longer than Ritalin, 4-6 hours to Ritalin's 3 or so and it is much more stable than Ritalin SR which may last 5 hours but is unreliable.
