:I made a call today to the Marine Corps recruiting office regarding this subject. The Sergeant I spoke with said that they send the information to the "Bureau of Medicine" located somewhere in Virginia. It is they that determine who is eligible to enter the service. He further explained to me that not many people get in that claimed ADD/ADHD or that took Ritalin. : My son just received a Congressional Nomination to the Naval Academy followed by a letter stating he had been medically disqualified due to ADD. He has taken Ritalin & Adderall in the past and it is one of the questions on the application. At this point we are beginning the appeal process and have some very pointed questions with regard to the issue. Hope to have additional info soon.: : Can anyone tell me if there are restrictions from entering the military or the field of law enforcement if you have taken ritalin either in the past or currently? I've heard something about this, but can't get any concrete answers. Thank you!
: My 12 year old son was diagnosed ADHD five years ago. He's taken Ritalin, and the such. Currently is on Adderall. We have been trying to find out if the diagnosis/mediaction will keep him away from his dream...the US Air Force Academy.
: We would be most interested on how the appeal goes.
