Why would my Dr. say that all ADD meds are all the same??

Is he just saying that he doesn't care? I have read that ritalin isn't addictive in certain form, where dexedrine is very addictive.

Dexedrine is what he is going to prescribe for me. Does anyone have any experiences and personal info on how it helped them or possibly hurt them???
