: .I have l2 year old boy who makes good grades with the help of tutoring, lots of parental involvement and great help from the school staff, ie cmc, teachers, counselors etc..it's a hard road, but ritalin has helped and now we're on to adderall, but my child doesn't have much H and often looks more depressed than hyper..We started on l0mg..he weighs ll0..but after school he was more emotional..a little aggressive on the come off..and I am now really considering trying to get off medication...even though when he started on it last year a teacher of extraordinary talent absolutely said the difference in focus and reduction of social aggrevating habits was obvious..the moodiness and never being sure if you are dealing with your child or the drug your child has taken..makes you pretty miserably undecided. I, too have spend time in the halls in tears. We all try so hard. It's good to know we are not alone.
