: As far as meds such as dexedrine, ritilan, adderall, cylert and any others out there; how have they helped you?

Speaking as a parent Ritalin helps my son tremendously. If he doesn't take it before I get up in the morning to help get him off to school on time (he is 10 and I work pm shift) I have to struggle to get him to do anything at all. I can't get him motivated to even catch a bus on time let alone get to school on time. When he takes his medication before I get up it has taken affect while he was in the shower etc and he is dressed and ready except for shoes etc. He knows what he wants for breakfast and is able to be realistic about whether I can get it for him in the amount of time he has. He is pleasant and can stay on task with getting his bookbag ready for school if there is anything special he still needs to pack. He can make a quick decision as to hot lunch or cold lunch etc. Without the ritalin I am pulling my hair out due to his attitude as well as his inability to stay on task. Hope this info helps you.
