I am a 27 year old adult who was prescribed concerta three weeks ago (for adult ADD). I too have been having mood swings (really more like depression) since being on it. I have also been feeling drowsy and somewhat listless. I never felt like this on regular ritalin tablets.

Its supposed to be a long acting (12 hour) form of Ritalin. I have taken regular Ritalin tablets, and in my experience Concerta feels nothing at all like it. To me its even less effective than the unreliable ritalin SR. Also, I don't feel nearly as focused.

I hope things work out for you and your son. Let me know how it goes
