My son has been on Ritalin for 3 years. The only problem is that he has experienced quite a bit of weight loss. This has concerned my husband and I so the doctor says that there is a new medicine out called "concerta". This is where you give your child 1 pill a day and it sits in there stomach and releases throughout the day. It is said to be better than the former Slow release form of ritalin. So far he is on 35 mg a day and I am noticing only a little over hyper activity late in the evenings because this only lasts for 12 hours. SInce this is new, if you have or know anyone that is taking this, please let me know of any things you can tell about the medicine and if it seems to be working well for you.
