My doctor has suggested exercise in addition to medication. I believe he says it helps to release dopamine in the brain and this helps reduce the symptoms. I feel it really works, and you don't have to have a full blown gym work out either. I notice a difference between days where I take a 30 minute walk and days I don't. Perhaps it is purely psychological, but I know it is good for me either way, so I have stuck with it and my medication.
