: I need her to understand why I "interfere" in her life and try to help her see things about her decisions that she needs to realize....my only alternative is to let her suffer all the consequences....which could mean not having a car to drive or a job.....those consequences cost us too.because then she needs a ride to work etc you can email me
At 29 she should have long since been allowed to suffer the consequences on her own. At 29 she should have a life of her own and be a responsible adult ADD or no ADD. Time to stop protecting her and let her live. Also what makes you feel that ADD people tend to be immature? I have not seen that with my son nor with others with ADD. You also should not feel you owe your daughter a ride should she lose her car. That is what taxi's, bikes, and feet are made for. If you feel she needs help with her life and immaturity you might suggest she seek professional help but at 29 unless she is declared mentally incompetent there is not much you can do about it. In the mean time quit protecting her as it is doing her more harm than good as she will never learn what responsiblity is all about. Better she learn to be responsible for her own actions now then after you are gone.
