Medication may not always be the answer for psychiatric issues, especially ADD and other childhood psyche problems. The answer may lie in effective and professional counseling. Unfortunately, this is exactly what you do not get in psychiatric hospitals. You see, the bottom line there is MONEY. They do not want to pay for therapist or counselors. Instead, they employ often unqualified nurses to run groups, pump sedating medication, and do 1 to 1 therapy. Furthermore, they keep the overworked and inexperienced nurses quiet with large hourly pay. My advice is to find a good therapist outside that system...you may have to pay out of pocket..but remember the saying "You get what you pay for"!!!!!
