: I have an 11 year old daughter on Ritalin. Any body else have a daughter with it.
Our 11 year-old niece takes it as prescribed. What a difference in schoolwork ! The only thing that concerns me (a casual observer) is that she is so sullen each afternoon and early evening until the effect wears off. A definite relief for the rest of us, but I am reminded of the 'psych' patients on thorazine that are being 'kept under control'. Hopefully, the benefit outweighs the drawbacks. She was certainly headed in the wrong direction without it.
