In Reply to: Can VICODIN Tolerance be reversed? posted by Disk on July 30, 2000 at 11:55:25:

: I've been noticing that my usual prescribed dosage of vicodin isn't as effective
: as it once was. I know that over time patients build up a tolerance
: but instead of increasing the dosage, I'm wondering how long
: it would take to be off it before my body's tolerance to the drug
: "wears off".
: I'd rather suffer for a time using just over the counter pain meds
: than continuing to increase the dosage if the time span isn't years.
: Thanks for your reply.

If no meds are taken for at least 2 weeks (sometimes longer)
opiate tolerance can be reduced. I also got the same basi
answer from my pharmacist.
