I have just completed 18 days withdrawal (cold) from "5 mg" of methadone. This after being on maintenance for more than 25 years!!!!!!!! I can't tell you how uncomfortable this is, especially not sleeping at night and those terrible coughing spells that feel like I'm choking. When I stopped smoking in April, I had lung surgery in May. Then I decided to quit the meth..........then I find out I have lung cancer. I was given percocet by the surgeon for the pain after the surgery, and it seemed to help, but when that was finished he didn't want to prescribe any more. I just don't know how much longer it's going to take. My plate is quite full right now (medically), but I don't know if I really want to begin going back to the clinic to pick up meth twice a week and deal with the bureaucratic bs that exists here in NY. Some people say heroin is easier to kick than methadone. THEY ARE RIGHT!!!! BUT, I still want OUT from this drug.
I even heard it might take 3 months!!!!!! Does anyone know how long you can take percocet before becoming addicted?
