It sounds like you and I use for different reasons. I don't know if you've read all of the postings, but for me, it makes me very motivated. I don't escape reality when I'm high. I'm very functional. That's part of my problem. I like to get high, then do all of my bills, housework, etc. It makes me feel on an even keel, more like a regular person. When I don't have it (like RIGHT NOW), I don't feel like doing anything. Are you a religious man at all? I know some people turn to Marijuana Anonymous to heal. It's not for me, but it has done well for many. If you don't want to attend meetings, there are on-line meetings held. Just type in Marijuana Anonymous for your keyword on your computer, and see what you come up with. It's really, really hard to kick. I know. Since I'm in roughly the same boat as you, I don't have any really good advice. I CAN tell you that you aren't alone. Many of us around this age smoke. Some with major guilt, some with none at all. You have to admit though, it costs us more than money, doesn't it. Good luck to you, and let me know how you are doing. Could you at least try to not do it while your son is visiting? You would feel a little better about yourself, I think.
