I'll tell you fiest off that you probably not going to like some of what I have to say. I'm a 27 yr. old man from Ohio and an alcoholic. I can understand where you're coming from, because I was once new to recovery also. The most important question you must ask yourself is , ARE YOU WILLING TO GO TO ANY LENGTH TO RECOVER? If you are not, then no matter how bad your life seems now, you probably have not hit bottom yet. I kept going out over and over when I first came around the rooms of AA and I used all of the stupid excuses that you are to explain why. You need to find women in recovery and ask for their help. Ask one of them to sponsor you. Find a home group. GET TO MEETINGS! It took a DUI , 6 visits to the hospital for inpatient treatment, 2 suicide attempts, and a stay in a psych ward for me to hit my bottom. Hopefully you wont have to sink that low. I now attend 1-2 meetings every day, have a good job, lots of great friends, a great SOBER social life, and I am healthier than I've ever been mentally and physically. I have to remember that I will always be an alcoholic and if I pick up, I'll be right back where I started in no time. I hope I've been some help. Remember to ask yourself-AM I WILLING TO GO TO ANY LENGTH?

David
