: My husband drinks every weekend (friday-sunday)He says that he just enjoys drinking and watching a ballgame or race but I know it is more than that! He stopped drinking for about a year and then he started back so I know he could stop if he really wanted to. He bets on ballgames all weekend too. He'll usually drink at least 2 cases of beer over the weekend but he doesn't see that it is a problem. He says he is a grown man and if he wants to drink a beer he will. We have a 3 year old son and I hate for him to see it. What can i do? It gets so old every weekend. PLEASE HELP! Christy

I can identify with you Christy - my husband drank unnaturally for 10 years and we came to blows - he has been sober 7 years now with the help of AA. My only regret is that I did'nt go to Al-Anon meetings (for families and friends of problem drinkers) when he was drinking - life would have been so much more bearable and he may have even found AA sooner - but I know now that I only made his drinking worse by trying to get him to stop. If you can try and find an Al-Anon meeting in your area - He may or may not get to AA but you will certainly start to feel better.
Give it a try - you've probably tried everything else!
