: There are several women's AA's groups out there that not only cater to addication issues, but how they specifically deal with women's issues. In addition, you need to keep going you will find one that meets your needs in your area. Please keep going to meetings and don't drink, you will find your peace. God Bless Lizbet.

: : I'm 36 and completely addicted to alcohol. My first drink was at age 12. Alcohol has done nothing except cause me horrendous problems and embarrassing situations. The hangovers are unbearable. I think I have damaged my kidneys because they always hurt. I cannot succeed with AA. It felt like a breeding ground for low self esteem that I already have enough of. Men won't leave me alone there either. I hate what I have become, but don't seem to have the wherewithall to stop this. I'm afraid to see my doctor because I know once this is in your medical record you will never get individual insurance again and somehow the wrong people find out and look at you like a loser. What can I do to get better?

Don't give up trying AA - try to find a meeting that suits you - I'm married to an alcoholic and I know that if he stopped going to his meetings the chances are he will drink again - please don't give up - AA really works but only if you want to get sober enough and stop your health from deteriorating any more. Give it another try you can't do this on your own - only another alcoholic can help you get sober
