: I posted a message yesterday and I've not received a reply. I really need someone to give me some advise on how to stop taking Lortabs. I've tried several times & the withdrawal is so devastating to my physical health that I can't do it. PLEASE - someone help me. How can I stop taking these and still be able to work.
To Desperate...I hope I'm doing this right, I'v never posted on this board before. I know exactly what you're going through. In fact I'm there (again) right now, only with vicodin. I had to have a doctors assistance to get me off before and will probably have to do it again. I have no self control when I have the meds in my hand, so I litterally had to go everyday for awhile. He would give the meds to someone that he knew would DOSE them out to me everyday, every four hours. I was EXTREMELY sick for about two weeks but that was the only way short of a 40,000. rehab stay which I could not afford. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I've done this to myself again and keep putting the whole process off because I live in a very small town and know that my doctor would be SO dissapointed in me, not to mention that I do not get these drugs from a persciption. Hang in there and just wean a little at a time.
