I am currently in a methadone program and have been detoxing at a rate of 5 mg./wk. (from 85 to 50 mg so far.) I haven't noticed any difficulty. Friends report the same effect until they reached 20 mg. I have seen a pharmocoligist and neuroligist. The formula is as follows: 10 mg. of methadone = 15 mg. morphine = 1/4 grain of opiate. However, percocet is oxycocone, not as powerful as morphine/herion. During my morphine addiction, a shot of 50 mg. morphine and a shot of 60-70 mg. of oxycodone felt equal and stayed off any sign of withdrawal. Each percocet contains 5 or 10mg. of oxycodone. This involves alot of math, but if I were in your position, I would decrease my percocet use by 5 or 10 mg. every 4 days. Any withdrawal symptoms occurring from the decrease would be felt during days 2 and 3. Good Luck.
