: I came across this site while surfing around various methadone related sites.I am a recovering addict on methadone maintence and I can't begin to tell about the many profound changes that have occured in my life as a result of this treatment.I was most excited to see message boards about methadone.I am very active in my clinic,on the client advisory panel, publishing a monthly newsletter ect...I feel that methadone has gotten a bad rap for far to long, and people should be educated about the FACTS of this wonderful treatment, not the rumors. And alot of those rumors are very bizarre,to say the least.Methadone is the most succesful course of treatment for those addicted to any form of opiates, and no other treatment has been so studied and tested. Not to mention has had such a positive effect on the lives of millions.I'd be interested in corresponding with anyone who is on methadone and would like to compare thoughts, ideas, clinic policys or whatever with a kinderd spirt. For all the MMT's out there hold your heads up high and be proud of your accomplishments. In my life time I hope to see methadone become mainstream medicine.
: Thanks Much-Suzanne
unfortunatley the methadone treatment does not agree with everyone but so happy that you are ok on it..i have a daughter thats on 77.5mls with hepc and she is having a real bad time on the stuff, she vomits it up after about half hour of drinking it has no appetite and forces herself to eat, she has lost so much weight...she is at present trying to reduce it with her doctor but not having much luck in that area...she wants to be free of drugs..totally......but in order to detox has to be down to at least 30 mls before she can be excepted in a detox....she's between a rock and a hard place.......any advice would be appreciated.......
