: : I was a heroin addicted for 3 years. I went on methadone to get clean. It worked but was very expensive so when I went into the hospital to have my baby, they detoxed me. You may not know but detoxing from methadone is worse than heroin. Subsequently I started buying painkillers and have been addicted every since. I just don't know what to do. I have a normal life, good job and the only reason that I take them is because if I don't I go into withdrawal and it lasts for weeks and I can't function. Other than going into to treatment which is not an option for me, what can I do. Does anybody know of any products that can clean your system out so the withdrawal symptoms arent' so bad. Help.
: stacy, i am in somewhat the same predicament. things to research that ARE available and DO help. 1.thee tea 2.buprenorphine 3.ibogaine you may be familiar with some of these. there are more. keep searching. let's keep each other updated. good luck. p.s. l-tyrosine, 10,000 mgs. vit.c daily, mega, mega b vitamins!!!! try it.
Sad story. I was involved in the first methadone trials here in Canada in 1970 and after 3 years of maintenance decided it was time to let it go. 28 days of sheer misery during which I landed in the hospital twice and yes, once clean there was the psychological to deal with. I feel twice but the kick from heroin at least was only a 3 day jones. Its been over 25 years now and I've been clean without a problem. I've been on opiates for surgeries but with no addictions, maybe a memory or two, but never a look back. The only answer hurts like heck but its simply to kick it, cold as a thanksgiving turkey. I'm one of the successes, they're aren't many of us, but we do exist and life has never been sweeter. Good luck.
