I was diagnosised 2 1/2 yrs ago with addisons.
I was 125lbs, 5'6" and worked hard at keeping my weight down even with a hypothyroid. Well, within one month of cortisol I gained 30 lbs. i can deal with the desease but the weight gain is so unfair.
I exercised and hardly ate much but salads and finally lost 15lbs. In May I went into a crisis was hospitalized for 12 days and within a month gained 17 more lbs. I wouldn't mind if the weight was detributed evenly over my body, but it all goes to my stomach and clothing is so difficult to buy. I'm on 30mg of cortisol and .4 of florinef and feel like a bloated balloon. i truly feel for all of you who have gained weight with this disease. Now my doctor says she thinks I'm depressed. Sure I'm depressed, who wouldn't be gaining weight without even overeating. If anyone has had luck with a certain diet, please post it.
Everyday is a struggle just not to gain another lb.
