: The endocrine system was designed to work in harmony. If you have been diagnosed with hypoglycemia, with a 6 hour glucose tolerance test, your pancreas is malfunctioning. If your pancreas is not functioning properly, neither is any other gland in your endocrine system. The next step in the normal down hill spiral is your thyroid will malfunction. May I suggest you read Dr.Broda O. Barnes excellent book, "Hypothyroidism, the Unsuspected Illness". Do the underarm temperature thyroid test Dr. Barnes discusses in the book. IT IS THE ONLY ACCURATE THYROID TEST THERE IS, BAR NONE!!!!!!!!!!! At 58 years old, Rich, I tell you these things from experience. I too, was hypoglycemic when I was in my 20's, then my thyroid went kapute, and now I have Addison's disease. So I know endocrine problems are PROGRESSIVE. Your young, DO EVERYTHING in your power to regain & maintain your health. You have NO IDEA what it's like when you lose it!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your post. I agree with you 100%. However, I believe that in order to have a well working endocrine system, candida cannot be present because it actually CAUSES malfunctions with the endocrine glands. So, I am working to get rid of the candida with a doctor. Funny you should mention that thyroid because my TSH panel just came back and I am slightly hypothyroid now which is weird because I have a hard time GAINING weight and from what I am told, usually people that are hypothyroid have a hard time loosing it. I also did the underarm temp. first thing in the morning. It was under every day. So, I guess that's the deal. The doctor said that once the candida is gone, we are going to work at getting ALL the systems back into balance. From what I am seeing on the rest of the board, I do not have addisons and my adrenals are still functioning pretty well. I continue to support them with 50mg of DHEA because the levels are low. I think they are low due to stress more than anything else. Since Stress ruins the endocrine system, I am learning to chill out. I am feeling a little better too. Anyway, thanks for your post and I will do as advised and get this under control NOW!!!! Just because you are 58 with these problems doesn't mean you are DOOMED to poor health for the rest of your life. Medications and hormones can control these problems pretty well and science is doubling expodentially every 2-3 years. In another 10 years, most of these modern-day illnesses that plague us will be a thing of the past. Hang in there. thanks again.
