I think my doctor is doing OK w/ the day to day stuff, but some info I had to find on my own or learn the hard way. Given that, thought I'd try to find out what else he may have left out.

Stuff my doc has advised me about:
Taking meds, Medicalert necklace, avoid dehydration, don't deplete electrolytes, steps for fevers& persistent vomiting.

I read here about "avoiding stress". What kind of stress? I was under the impression I could handle the "stress" of exercise and day-to-day aggravations as well as anyone, is this wrong?

What precautions should I take when travelling? I do a lot of outdoorsy things(backpacking and so forth) where medical attention is not immediately available. One place suggested carrying injectable cortisone, which my doc has never mentioned.

Is our life expectancy significantly statistically different? Just curious.

Any other precautions I ought to be taking, or asking the doc about?

Thanks to all.
